What the floor knows that the CMMS does not, versioned and cited.

The Journal holds what the floor knows that the CMMS does not: the trick that freed the valve, the sensor that reads high in winter. Answers cite journal records as wo:// sources, each version separately.

Add a record

Technicians, experts and administrators press New journal record and fill in:

• the Asset and the Event date;
• the Symptom, the Cause and the Action;
• a Photo (optional).

Add record saves it as version 1 with your name. Viewers can read the journal but not write to it.

Edit a record

Edit saves a new version; earlier versions are kept, and Versions lists them all with their authors. An answer that cited an earlier version still opens that version.

Drafts from workflows

When a part change is recorded, the Part change, journal draft workflow drafts a journal record and posts it to the workflow inbox. An expert confirms it there (Confirm draft); only then do answers cite it.

Photos and retention

Photos are kept on the edge PC for the site's media retention, 30 days by default (media_retention_days in site.yaml), then deleted; the text stays.
